Who We Are
COOP Charities USA is a community-focused 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to building a resilient safety net for our most vulnerable neighbors. We operate through a distinct flagship program: Eviction Angels, which provides critical emergency intervention to keep families, single mother's and seniors in their homes. By focusing our resources for those at the highest risk of displacement and instability, we turn a temporary crisis into an opportunity for lasting security and hope.
COOP Charities USA bridges the gap between social services and law enforcement. By positioning ourselves as the first line of defense against homelessness, we transform the eviction process from a traumatic legal confrontation into a supportive community intervention.

While evictions are devastating for families, they also take a hidden toll on the officers assigned to enforce them. We believe that:
-
Law Enforcement Mental Health Matters: Repeatedly removing families from their homes is a "high-stress, low-reward" task that can lead to burnout, moral injury, and secondary trauma for officers.
-
Safety Through Prevention: When Eviction Angels steps in to provide financial aid before a court order is executed, we remove the need for an armed presence entirely. This keeps officers focused on public safety rather than being the "face of displacement."
-
The "Angel" Intervention: By providing a "notice of assistance" instead of a "notice to vacate," we replace a moment of extreme tension with a path to stability. This proactive approach significantly reduces the risk of crisis-escalation that often puts both families and first responders in danger.
